I have been wrapped up in work and social events, and I have just begun my Masters degree in Counselling, so Substack has been a little neglected. While my life seems to be all about the material, I have been consumed in my internal world by the Telepathy Tapes podcast. It triggered a second-wave spiritual awakening for me. The Telepathy Tapes discusses telepathy in non-verbal autistic people and the nature of consciousness.
Many of the beliefs I already had, that may be deemed too woo-woo for the wider audience, have been reconfirmed by the findings in this research and podcast. Since listening, I have experienced strange synchronicities including being visited in a dream by someone I did not recognise to be part of my own unconscious.
In Jungian psychology, the collective unconcious is a shared reservoir between all humankind that contains universal experiences and connection to our ancestors.
It is possible that we are all connected via a network like mushrooms. If it exists with the internet, why can’t it be in us?
“Mycelial networks, the fungal underground web, "communicate" via chemical and electrical signals. Chemicals relay nutrient availability and threats, while electrical impulses, similar to neural activity, may coordinate growth. These networks often link with plant roots, forming mycorrhizae, enabling nutrient and signal exchange. This "wood wide web" facilitates resource sharing and coordinated responses to environmental changes.”

Using technology that allows plant electricity to be converted to MIDI data, Nico Georis created the Golden Teachers album using mushrooms to create plant music.
Communication is possible through so many more magical ways than words.
The Telepathy Tapes podcast also got me thinking about this theory:
I’ve also really loved the audiobook of Lisa Marie Presley’s memoir completed by her daughter Riley Keough after her death, read aloud by Julia Roberts and Riley. In the book, Riley talks about Lisa Marie as a fire witch with an incredibly powerful intuition and her connection to another realm.
Their story got me thinking about the daemon:
Some daemons are highly powerful, like we see in genius artists or musicians. Sometimes we see those extremely talented people accompanied by a dark passenger and deal with mental health issues or addiction. Many people believe addiction is a result of repressed creative energy or spiritual power.
Thanks for reading. Hopefully I’ll be back soon. I’d love to hear your thoughts on anything discussed in this article!
